Dear Lizi
I have bought your original granola for some time now and really love it, however I have noticed that it seems to have a relatively high level of fat content. Is this really healthy? - AW
Dear AW
The short answer is yes, and the reason for this is it depends on the type of fat you eat. Although there is some saturated fat in my Granola it is from a plant source, not from an animal source, which is far more damaging in terms of your health. Our bodies do need fat for our organs and for our brain to work, and in fact for all of our body to function at an optimum level. Our bodies need essential fatty acids but cannot manufacture these internally and so we need to take EFA’s in the form of food, so that’s why it is important to eat nuts and seeds. The oil we use in the baking of our Granola is rapeseed oil, which is second only to Flax oil as a vegetable source of Omega 3 EFA.
