Matt’s High Protein Cookies!

As the consultant nutritionist to Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur i’m aware of the huge importance in making sure you are properly fuelled before and after exercise. Not only will it affect your output and how you perform, but it will also help your body to cope and recover.

Protein helps stabilse glucose levels in the blood, it supports our immune function, helps hormone production and keeps us feeling full too.

Consuming protein around training helps with muscle protein synthesis, which means it helps to build new muscle and recovers muscle faster after exercise than when you eat too little or none at all.

There are many ways to get your protein hit and doesn’t necessarily need to be in the form of a chicken breast. You could have it as a smoothie, scrambled eggs or if you’re on the move then try making these delicious high protein cookies I’ve created; perfect for a protein hit before or after a work out.

What’s more – you can see me making it here
