Olympic Sprint Kayaker Louisa Gurski Loves Lizi’s High Protein Granola!

We love having Olympic athletes give us their feedback on our delicious granola!  We caught up with Professional Sprint Kayaker Louisa Gurski a few weeks before she was due to fly out to Rio and she told us how she prepares for a tough day training with the help of Lizi’s High Protein granola.

“What does a typical day look like for a Professional Sprint Kayaker?

My day begins at 7am, get my training kit on and head downstairs for breakfast to get me started for the day. Breakfast is definitely the most important meal of the day! After my Lizi’s High Protein Granola I am ready to go. Grab my kit bag and lunch and I’m heading for Dorney Lake for my first training session of the day. This is a 60-80 minute paddling session followed by my second breakfast of avocado and eggs on toast. Quick rest up and I’m in the gym for my next session at 11am. More food and refuelling with lunch and chance to catch up with the support staff such as the dietician, physio, lifestyle help and my coach to evaluate the morning’s work and plan for next week’s training. It is soon time to head back to the lake for my final session of the day. Session done, protein bar eaten, it’s time to go home! Exhausted, tired and very hungry! After winding down on the sofa and a bit of reading it’s time for some more refuelling. My favourite ‘go to’ snack is Greek yoghurt with strawberries, chia seeds with a handful of Lizi’s Low Sugar granola sprinkled on top. Delicious! This keeps me going as I sleep and ensures my muscles repair and grow, to do it all over again the next day!”

Best of luck to Louisa and the rest of team GB!
