Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Melt the butter or coconut oil in a saucepan over a low heat until it is in a liquid form.
  3. Add in the xylitol and golden syrup, stirring slowly over a low heat. Careful you don’t bring it to the boil.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, throw in the granola and combine with the melted fat and syrup using a wooden spoon.
  5. If you are using any nuts or spices, add these in now and use a gentle folding mixture to ensure that everything is nicely mixed up together.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased tin and bake for 20-25 minutes, taking care not to burn them.
  7. When cooked, place on a wire rack to cool before cutting into bars. Enjoy!

  1. What is xylitol please? What does it do and where can it be purchased?

    • Thank you so much for your question. Xylitol is a natural sweetener used as an alternative to traditional sugar – you can find more information here: http://xylitol.org/about-xylitol/

You can buy Xylitol in health food stores or purchase from Amazon.co.uk for around £10 for a 1kg bag.

Do let us know if you make the recipe! We’d love to know what you think.
